An omnidirectional transfer cart is battery-powered and driven by an omnidirectional wheel system. The control system independently controls each drive wheel, allowing the cart to move forward, backward, laterally, diagonally, and rotate in place on a flat, hardened floor without rails or a conventional steering mechanism.
